Founded by Ramos Mays and Mark Pydynowski, the SOMARK partnership traces its roots to Washington University in St. Louis where the two played intercollegiate baseball together.
Ramos M. Mays
Ramos is the Chief Science Officer and inventor of SOMARK technology. He is a broad technologist with professional training including condensed-matter physics, intelligent materials, electromagnetics, systems design and computer engineering. Ramos claims the experience of three startups, all of which were e-commerce/software based. He oversees SOMARK’s research and development efforts in addition to setting its technological vision. Ramos was a MIT TR 35 award nominee, winner of the 1st place $50,000 Olin Cup award from Washington University in St. Louis in 2005, and a winner of the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Federal Small Business Administration (SBA) in 2008.
Mark C. Pydynowski
Mark is the President and CEO of SOMARK. During his undergraduate studies in managerial economics and political science, he partnered with Mays on an IT service-based startup. His previous industry experience includes business development at Gallup Consulting, a New York-based management consulting firm. Mark leads SOMARK’s daily operations and is responsible for the company’s financing, marketing, legal, and strategic initiatives. Additionally, he served as a director of the United Way of Greater St. Louis and steering committee member of the young professional group, GenNext, from 2006 to 2009. Mark received the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Federal Small Business Administration (SBA) in 2008, the St. Louis Business Journal’s 30 Under 30 Award in 2007, and the 1st place $50,000 Olin Cup award from Washington University in St. Louis in 2005.
